Remove Line phone number without clearing data with SQLite Editor (Root only) - Android

To remove a phone number from Line, first always make sure your Line is linked to Facebook and your Email account whatever the method you use, or your line account will jump!!!

To make sure your Line account is linked, go to Setting - Account; and check out "Email" and "Facebook" boxes.

I will enlist 3 methods to remove the Line phone number:

•   I. Clear Data of your Line application and you log in again. Simple method, but this method will get you lot of troubles later... Believe me, don't try it!
•   II. The 2nd method is if your friend lent you his number, he can remove the number for you by registering back his phone number to his phone. (this is the best method for Taiwan number instead).
•   III. And lastly, I will show you how to remove a phone number from Line without clearing data by using SQLITE Editor on Android (but Root only!).

Be careful of Taiwan, Indonesia, HongKong and Japan. They need PIN code!!! I will explain at the bottom of the post how to do. see ***

1. Download SQLITE Editor from the link:

2. Make sure you are linked to an Email+Facebook

3. Here is where you see if a number is already registered or not.

4. Open SQLITE Editor

5. Select Line

6. Select Naver_Line

7. Select Setting

8. Press long on each buttons and select Delete:
- Profile country calling code
- Profile phone
- Profile normalized phone

9. Once the 3 items deleted, go FORCE STOP Line

10. And now, go back on Line. Go check if the number is still here.It shouldn't be here anymore... SO CONGRATS!!! =)

*** Now, let's talk for the countries where the PIN is needed (to be reminded: Taiwan, Indonesia, HongKong and Japan).

• When you will use those numbers, they will ask you to set a Pin code. Choose one and remember it for "all your life" (select an easy one: 0000 ; 1234: birthday date, or something else...).
• Once done, go check a 2nd time in Setting - Account to check if the Pin code is set.
• Once downloading the stickers is finished, it is better to use method 2 (your friend remove the number for you; prefer method 2 for Taiwan number!!!); or you can use method 3 (SQLITE editor) to remove the number.
• Once back to Line, the PIN code is still in the Setting - Account
  =>To remove it, use another phone number which doesn't require Pin code (so one country who is not listed above). Once you use the number and release it, the PIN in Setting - Account will disappear. You are safe!!!

As for China, you shouldn't use any of those ways. this country is extremely dangerous. I will consacrate totally a page for that country....
